Costa Rica Weather, Climate, and Seasons

Costa Rica weather is just as diverse as it’s landscape.  The calendar is broken up in to two seasons, dry and rainy (or green).  The dry seasons runs from December through May and the rainy/green season runs May through November.

In terms of temperature, the coolest months are generally November and December, while the hottest months are March and April.

Below you’ll find a map of Costa Rica and the average temperatures and rainfall for a few of the major locations:

Don’t be fooled by the amount of rain during the “green” season.  Often times it will rain for a few hours each day and be sunny the rest of the day.  Also notice that the rainfall averages in Limon, on the Caribbean side, are different from the most of the country.
